They still make 'em like they used to in Poland.
Land Rover, you may not be surprised to read, has a new Defender on the way. In the meantime, though, it discontinued production of the old one more than three years ago. (Which is just as well, we suppose, because it stopped selling them in North America a couple of decades ago.) But that doesn't mean you can't still pick up a new one, built to your specifications.
Polish specialist Land Serwis (that's "Service" for us non-slavs) not only maintains and upgrades existing Defenders, but has the tooling to build new ones from scratch.
The Krakow-based firm says it's the one of only four in the world (and the only one outside the UK) with the capability and authorization to build "new" Defenders, even before Ineos Automotive gets to work.
